They have no school
It’s the June hols now
So no surprise
They have no school
So Daddy-O needs to work overtime!
Planning for stuff to while away every day
Avoiding boredom, keeping it at bay
To come up with things and activities to do
Keeping them occupied and my sanity too
I wish it lasts a mere few days
Then I can get through and find a way.
To carve out time
And pen at least a line
Of poetry, and feel myself coming alive
As I let the words soothe my frazzled nerves
Cos they may be free from school
But I still have lots of things to do!
Oh well…
Such is the life we signed up for
When first we chose to parent more
Than live a life of solitude
Away from busy fatherhood
So what if they have no school?
Now til end of June we’ll figure out
What we need to do or not do
Together as father and sons
