Bad Dad
To stop sibling rivalry
Just play the bad dad
That’s what I have discovered
Though it brings me much dread
Cos when I turn ballistic
My sons band together
I’m instantly their common enemy
And they the Band of Brothers (united)
It’s good I guess but
Where does that leave their old man?
Out in cold enemy territory
Taking his sad solo stand
So hard it is to know how
To hold off my parental pain
Not to rupture like a volcano
Spewing lava over my domestic terrain
But boiling just enough
To get them up in arms impressively
Together fellow comrades
Collaborating against the enemy
Me!
