“Rose Rose Thorn Bud”
To cultivate gratitude
Start by letting down your guard
Tend to your inner garden
With a daily “Rose Rose Thorn Bud”
The first Rose of the day
Is what put a smile on your face
Maybe a stranger gave you a wink
Or you just won a three-legged race
The second Rose is to help you
Never forget to count your blessings
To focus on the positive and
Remember the good in all things
The Thorn is something that challenged
And brought a furrow to your brow
A difficulty you had to sort out
But you have no answer (for now)
The Bud is a hope you can look ahead to
Maybe a possible rose about to come up
Perhaps next week an old friend visits
Bringing you a new Snoopy coffee cup
If at each day’s end you pause to ponder
Consider the Rose Rose Thorn Bud that bloomed
Over time you and your loved ones will see in you
An overflowing gratitude floating up to the moon!
