Pause & Try
Of late I’ve been thinking
I need
Time to pause and figure
Things out
To meet
Myself again because
I’m losing me
People ask and demand
More of me
Than I’m actually ready
To give. Or even have (to give)
But because I’ve been
So willing
My plate is swiftly
Filling (like a buffet!)
Learning to say no
Was never easy for me
Though as I grew older
I’ve gotten slightly better
But now I’ve reverted
To my old docile other
God help me to say no
No to every other
To pause then try again
And live for what matters
In the end
Life
Love
Loved ones
Yes
Lemme
Pause
And try
Again
