The “Force & Refuse” Band
My son likes to say I force
I like to say he refuse
So maybe we can form a band
Called (what else)…
…Force & Refuse!
He says I like to force him
To do lots of homework every day
Or make him work on his OT*
Don’t let up son keep going I say!
I like to say he refused to cooperate
Yesterday, the day before. Basically every day!
He would wallow, throw a protest, and non-stop whine
Until I go nearly berserk and out of my mind
Sometimes son maybe we should just channel
All these force and refuse into some kind of rhyme
Then when it’s done we might have a ditty
To belt out together in steady melodic 2/4 time
That’s how many music bands are formed anyway
So why not us son? Let’s start right away!
Instead of me forcing and you refusing
We’ll be “Force & Refuse“, a band for this era this day!
