My Monday Metrical Musings #88

Be kind

It’s hard to be kind
When we’re busy chasing after
Baubles and balloons of
Every size and colour

Bells and loud whistles
And record-breaking feats
To reach for the stars
Or risk the worst of defeats

Kindness asks that we slow down
Make room to pause and seek clues
To point us to someone in dire need
That someone could be me or you

For fleeting such moments of need can be
In a flash they can come and go
But in that instant if you’re not there to lend a hand
How then can a kind world to our kids we show?!

I’ve walked this earth two score and twelve
And learned along life’s cobbled way
That when we’re kind
We’ll touch the divine
And forge a gentler future and a better day!

  1. Terrific! “Kindness asks that we slow down; Make room room to pause and seek clues.”
