My Monday Metrical Musings #45

black blue bus on road

What Does A Bus Carry?

What does a bus carry?

A bus
carries
…hopes,
…dreams,
…ambitions.
As it meanders down
thirsty streets
parched by the noonday heat.

Every warm body on board
on the way to one
final destination
of
…cheers
…fears
…jeers
…tears.

What does a bus carry?

Sunbeams and clusters
of
…concatenation
…coagulation
…congestion.

What lies ahead
lies within
that moving contraption.
Each one a constellation
of endless
…contemplation
…consideration
…continuation.

A bus
stops at every
node and station.
Then
moves along highways of
multiple permutations.

Til the clouds
open and flood
The roads of its
fleeting existence.
Forcing the bus that
carries these
…hopes,
…dreams,
…ambitions.

To slow
To brake
To cease.
For
…a pause?
…or a cause?
…or maybe remorse?

That’s what a bus carries.
