Wind In My Heart
They tore the palm trees down
My melodic maidens all gone
No warning except for the buzz
Not even a TIM-BER to end their song
Each time the wind blew through
Those leaves would sway and sing
It was like a chorus from heaven
Softly caressing my dream
But now they’re down
Chopped off before their prime
Why end their lives when it’s just begun
Don’t trees live several human lives?
Now I can’t hear the whoosh whoosh
Of the wind as it passes through those palms
Their wind song had blown straight into my heart
For so long. Now barely a whisper. Only calm
The wind in my heart is gone.
The wind in my heart forlorn.
The wind in my heart is gone.
Now only an empty silent song.
