My Monday Metrical Musings #198

Saying Goodbye To My Million Dollar View

Some may scoff but they don’t know
This greenery so rare I’ve loved since long ago
Twenty-five years to be exact I’ve had it but
Now I must say goodbye to my
Million
Dollar
View

Just opposite my apartment
All shades of green you’ll see
Each one a special tree
Each one a leafy scene

I want so much to stay forever
The calm it brings me soon will never
Be
Available with just one glance for me
I’ll need to adjust to a new
Paradigm
Leave these leaves outside my window
Behind

Things change
People move
That’s part and parcel of life
I know it’s crazy to grieve
But still
It’s all I can think of
Tonight!

My
Million
Dollar
View
