I “Fell” To Let Go
It finally happened to me
After months and months of revelry
Cycling pathways with my son
Was wondering when or even if
Would it happen all at once?
There was a young audience
So my embarrassment was obvious
Toppling onto the pavement
Like an overflowing bird feed
I was a grass blade away from chewing weed!
Yes there was pain
But also a strange joy
A klutz like me managed to
Avoid falling down til now
Yet I wished I had let go
When I saw I’m losing control
The bike going off the beaten track
Just let it fly let it go!
But I failed to and so
I fell with it and suffered a heavy blow
To my knee and my wrist
But most of all my self-esteem
All because
I “fell” to let go
Please learn from my mistake
Letting go’s the way TO go
Cos in life sometimes we must
