My Monday Metrical Musings #271

When The Sun Hits The Hills

When the sun hits the hills

Someone once said
When the sun hits the hills
A ringing goes out
All over God’s Green Earth

When the sun hits the hills
Song birds launch into a choir
Of arias and hallelujahs
Leaves waving unfurled

When the sun hits the hills
The land’s covered in a soft blanket
Enveloped in a hue so warm
So diffused

When the sun hits the hills
The world’s orange and bright
Life’s suffused in ardent red
A delightful haze

How I long to be there each time
When the sun hits the hills
Especially during times I need
My fill of energising light

When the sun hits the hill
The world’s at a standstill
And I can take a pause
Soak in the splendour

When the sun hits the hills
