My Monday Metrical Musings #127

Dear Patience

Dear Patience
Will you please stay a while more?
Dear Patience
Please don’t walk out the door!

For I’ve need of your
Wisdom
Guidance
Forgiveness

I’ve need of your
Vision
Thoughtfulness
Perseverance

Dear Patience
So many times I’ve
Floundered
Freaked-out
Fallen

Many times I’ve
Rushed
Rolled
Rammed
Headlong into a massive
Jam!

Inflicting Insulting Insinuating
Instigating Infuriating Intimidating

All to get what I desire
Even if it means extinguishing
Another’s passion and fire

Dear Patience please help me
To turn the tide back upon myself
To start considering the needs of
Someone else

Like my wife or son
Or other son
To learn to wait
Upon their needs and wants

Then maybe if I turn the lens
On others I’ll finally have recompense
And know once and for all
The sweet taste of giving and
Not merely receiving

Dear Patience
Will you please stay a while more?
