My Monday Metrical Musings #41

My son with autism at nearby playground (8 Oct 2020)

The little boy who…

There once was a little boy
Who loved nothing more than to sigh
Everyone around who heard him
Would pause and ask him: “Why?

There once was a little boy
Who loved nothing more than to whine
Everyone around who heard him
Could barely cover their ears in time.

There once was a little boy
Who loved nothing more than to prate
Everyone around who heard him
Tried to make a run for the gate!

There once was a little boy
Who loved nothing more than to holler
Everyone around who heard him
Exasperatedly wonders: “What for?!

There once was a little boy
Who loved nothing more than to scream
Everyone around who heard him
Thought he was having a bad dream

There once was a little boy
Who loved nothing more than to nag
Everyone around who heard him
Wanted to stuff him in a bag!

There once was a little boy
Who loved nothing more than to “HUH!
Everyone around who heard him
Remarked: “He’s terribly curt!”

There once was a little boy
Who loved nothing more than disarm
But everyone around who knew him
Understood it’s all part of his charm.
